ABA E-Commerce Solution is a family of independent-bookseller websites. When you visit an ABA E-Commerce Solution virtual bookstore, you will experience the knowledge and passion of independent booksellers who share their love of books with their customers and their communities. You'll have access to information and news about local authors, store events, and myriad staff recommendations -- and you will also be presented with content that reflects the collective wisdom of booksellers from all 50 states and Puerto Rico. ABA E-Commerce Solution makes IndieBound stores easier to find and more convenient to visit -- 24 hours a day!

Searching for a Book

Quick Search
Simply type a search term in the blank at the top of any page, and click Go. This Quick Search option will search for any word string or keyword contained in a book title or author name.
Quick Browse
Click on the arrow for a pull-down menu of subject categories. Highlight the category you are interested in, and click Go.
Advanced Search
A plethora of search options-including Title, Author, Format (hardcover, paperback, etc.), Subject and ISBN-let you narrow your search according to the specifications you type in. There are also Search Tips if your search is not returning the results you'd like.
Browse Subjects
A click on this will generate an exhaustive list of categories and subcategories, upon which you may click to further target your search for a book when searching by genre.

Register/Create an Account
We'll ask you to enter a username -- your email address -- and password, and provide address information and your preferred shipping address. Each time you return to this store (or to any ABA E-Commerce Solution store), you'll log in with your username and password, and your contact information and shipping preferences will be right there. You will also have the option of storing your credit card information on our secure server. (Doing so is not required for registration.)

Setting up a password-protected account means you don't have to re-enter your credit card and shipping information every time you shop. You can save items to your Shopping Cart and check the status of your orders at any time from the My Account section. If you forget your password, simply click on the My Account link in the top navigation bar. The subsequent page has a Forgot Your Password? link at the bottom. Click the link, put in your email address, click Send Me My Password, and we'll email your password to you. However, we will only send the password to the email address you originally used to register at our site.

You may browse the ABA E-Commerce Solution family of stores without creating an account-but you need to create one the first time you purchase an item.

Logging In and Out
Simply type in your username and password, and when you place an order, the contact and shipping information you entered when you created your account will appear on the Order Details page. If you wish to change any of that information at any point, you may of course do so.

Your password is secure. If you forget it, simply click on the "My Account" link in the top nav bar. The subsequent page has a "Forgot Your Password?" link at the bottom. Click the link, put in your email address, click "Send Me My Password," and we'll email your password to you. However, we will only send the password to the email address you originally used to register at our site.

If you are using a shared computer to shop, you'll want to be sure to log out when you are finished shopping, so that the information you've entered isn't accessible to other people using the computer.

Privacy Statement
Our business is deeply committed to protecting your privacy and your First Amendment rights, and this commitment extends to the personal information you provide when you use our site.

The personal information you submit to our site will not be shared, sold, or disclosed to third parties in any form, for any purposes, at any time unless we first have your consent. This information includes, but is not limited to, your email address. All our mailings conform to an opt-in policy, which means you have to elect to receive information from us. We will never send you unsolicited email.

In addition, we will not share information identifying your purchases with any third party without your permission or otherwise disclose it to anyone, including the government, on our own initiative.

If you opt to join our email list, you will occasionally receive communications with information on store events, promotions, new arrivals, and the like.

Want to order a book?

Ordering Via Shopping Cart
When you decide you want to order an item, you must first click on the item's picture or name. This will link to the item's product page, which offers further information about the item, as well as its price, inventory status, and more. If you wish to buy a particular item, click on "Add to Shopping Cart," and then you may either continue shopping, or proceed to checkout.

Changing or Removing the Contents of Your Shopping Cart
Click the Shopping Cart icon at the top right of any page. You will then be able to review the list of items in your basket, and you may change the quantity of each item if you wish. To remove an item from your cart, change the quantity to 0 (zero), or simply click on the Remove button.

When you are satisfied with your order, click Update. To send us your order, click CHECK OUT.

Shopping Cart
When you are ready to purchase your items, click the Shopping Cart link at the top right of any page and then click Proceed to Checkout. This will go to the Log In page.

Log In
If you are a returning customer, enter your username and password. If you are a new customer, you may open a new account by clicking on MY ACCOUNT. You may also proceed through the checkout process. If it is your first purchase on our site, proceeding through the checkout process will automatically create an account for you. Your username will be your email address, and you will be asked to create a password.

Shipping Information
After you click Continue, you will come to the Shipping Information page. At this point, you will indicate whether or not you want the order to be shipped or picked up at the store. If all the books will be shipped to the same address you can continue on this same page. If you would like to ship to multiple addresses, click next to "ship certain items to different addresses." If you would like to pick up all items at the store, click next to "to pick up from our store ALL items from this order."

Single Shipping Address
If all of the items in your order are being shipped to one address, stay on this page. Use the checkboxes on the right to mark any items that are gifts. Later you will have a chance to choose a message and wrapping paper for any gift item.

Next, enter your shipping address and click "continue." If you have gift items marked, you will go to the Gift Information page. If you do not have any gift items in your order, you will go directly to the Shipping Summary and Options page.

Returning customers will note that these fields already contain the information you provided at registration; you may change any of these fields if you wish.

Multiple Shipping Addresses
If you choose "Ship certain items to different addresses," items will be split so you can choose a separate shipping address for each. Use the checkboxes on the right to mark any items that are gifts. Later you will have a chance to choose a message and wrapping paper for any gift item.

Next, for each item, use the Shipping Address pull-down menu to choose an address from your account information, or enter a new address in the blank address fields. Once you enter an address and place an order, it will appear on the pull-down menu for all future transactions. Returning customers will note that these fields already contain the information you provided at registration; you may change any of these fields if you wish.

Click "continue" once you have entered a shipping address for each item and checked any gift items. If you have gift items in your order, you will go to the Gift Information page. If you do not have gift items, clicking "continue" will send you to the Shipping Summary and Options.

Pick Up at Store
Choosing to pick up all the items at the store eliminates the need to enter shipping information and saves you the cost of shipping charges.

Simply check the box for any gift items and click "Continue." If you have gift items, you will go to the Gift Information page. If you do not have any gift items, you will go to the Shipping Summary and Options page.

Gift Information Page
Here you can choose the type of wrapping paper and the gift message you would like for each book.

Once you have entered your gift options, click continue to go to the Shipping Summary and Options page.

Shipping Summary and Options
This page summarizes your order.

If you have multiple items in your order, you have the option of shipping all of the books together or having them shipped as they are available. The latter option might incur more shipping costs to you.

If you are shipping to multiple addresses, each address is listed separately. Once again, if you have multiple items being sent to any of the addresses you are given the option to hold the items and ship them together or ship the items as they are available. The latter option might incur more shipping costs to you.

This page also has a pull down menu with shipping methods. We offer Ground, Second Day, Overnight, Pick Up at Store, or International. The shipping rates are listed in the pull down menu.

Even if you did not choose the "pick up at store" option in the first step of the checkout process, you may still flag an item as "pick up at store." Choose pick up at store if you would prefer to pick up all of the books at the store. We will send you an email or call when they are available.

International shipping costs are varied. We will email or call you with their shipping quote for these orders. You will have the option to continue the order based on the shipping quote, or cancel the order.

If you are shipping to multiple addresses, you can choose a variety of shipping methods. For example, you may have one order sent Overnight, another picked up at the store, and send another to your cousin in Peru!

Once you have chosen whether to ship the books all at once or as they come in and have chosen a shipping method for each address click "continue" at the bottom of the page. This will send you to the Order Summary page.

Order Summary
This page contains the final order totals with subtotal, shipping, and tax for each order. It also contains fields for your credit card and billing address information. Please enter the cardholder's name exactly as it appears on the card.

This page gives you the opportunity to enter tax exempt information if applicable. You will need your organization's name, tax ID number, address, and phone number. Enter the information in the pop-up window. Your order will reflect the change once you click "submit" on the pop-up window.

Once you have entered your billing information and, if necessary, tax exempt info, click "Finalize Order". This is the last step to placing an order. Once finalized, an order cannot be changed. If you would like to make changes before finalizing your order, click "Change your Order" to go back to the shopping cart. The order information you have already entered will still appear as you go through the checkout process.

Order Confirmation
This contains your order number. Click on the "printer friendly version" button to have a copy of your order for printing. (We recommend that you print this screen and save it until your order arrives.) Additionally, a couple of hours after the order has been placed, you will receive an order-acknowledgement email.

Canceling an Order
Email or contact us and we will cancel any order that has not already been shipped. Please include your name and order number. You may reach us, during our business hours, via the store contact info near our logo on any page of our site.

After You Place an Order
Once you've finalized and placed an order, you will see a printable screen with an order confirmation number and the contact information for the store with which you have placed the order. (We recommend that you print this screen and save it until your order arrives.) Additionally, a couple of hours after the order has been placed, you will receive an order-acknowledgement email.

Special Orders
"Special order" refers to a book that may not be readily available for shipping. While some of these books might be hard to find, others are more easily obtained. Books that are considered rare or collector's items are special orders. In some instances, it may take us longer to locate this book for you than it would for a standard order, and the price is subject to change. We will contact you about the status of any special order you place with us.

Shipping

Rates
Shipping rates vary from one ABA E-Commerce Solution store to another. Final shipping cost for an order is composed of a flat per-order shipping fee, plus a fixed per-book fee. These fees will be displayed during your check out process.

Options
When you create a password-protected account with an ABA E-Commerce Solution store, you'll be able to enter your shipping address preferences. The next time you shop at this or any ABA E-Commerce Solution store, you'll log in and your shipping address preferences will be right there. You can always change your addresses at any time, if you wish.

If the items you've ordered will be available at different times, you have the ability to choose whether to ship all of the items together-and pay shipping once-or to split the order and pay shipping more than once.

Payment
You may pay for your orders with the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Checks will not be accepted.

Sales Tax
Sales tax is charged for same-state orders, but not for out-of-state orders. For example, if you are in Connecticut and you place an order with an ABA E-Commerce Solution store also in Connecticut, you will be charged sales tax.

You will always be charged sales tax if you live in New York State, irrespective of the location of the store you order from, because ABA E-Commerce Solution has a physical presence in New York.

Making a Return
We value you as a customer, and it is important to us that you are completely satisfied with each purchase. For that reason, you may return any item purchased from a store by bringing or shipping the item to the store from which the purchase was made.

Items being returned must be:
   - Returned within 30 days of purchase.
   - Accompanied by a receipt, packing list, or other proof of purchase.
   - In saleable condition.

ABA E-Commerce Solution stores do not offer cash refunds. Instead, all returned items will be replaced with an equivalent amount of store credit. Shipping charges will not be included in the total of the refund unless the wrong book or a damaged book was shipped.
